Mason Infotech - Proud to be working with CityFibre in Derby
Mason Infotech are proud to be working with CityFibre.
We're busy promoting their full-fibre internet network across Derby. Enabling the city to join the growing ranks of Gigabit Cities as we continue to introduce fibre infrastructure competition nationwide.
Councillor Matthew Holmes, Deputy Leader of Derby City Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “Derby City Council continues to work closely with the private sector to facilitate economic growth in the digital age and CityFibre’s full fibre network will be vital in ensuring Derby has a resilient and dynamic economy for decades to come. This approach will help us to reinforce our position as a smart city by making hi-tech digital infrastructure accessible for the benefit of communities across Derby.
As well as providing a boost to local business, CityFibre’s investment will also serve to bolster digital growth in the region. According to the latest Tech Nation Report from Tech City, the body charged with accelerating the UK’s digital economy.
Nottingham is highly optimistic about its potential for digital growth, with recent investments including a new £2m data centre and the creation of a city centre hub for digital tech businesses.
Gigabit City status will help to boost this optimism by driving further investment, new business start-ups and the development of digital skills as well as providing future-proof communications infrastructure and the foundations for smart city innovations such as smart street lighting, HD CCTV, traffic management systems and e-learning opportunities in schools. It will also help to improve awareness of the local digital sector.
